NITRILE RUBBER
Mills Ormiston Rubber Pty Ltd, MOR Industries, as a rubber products supplier offers nitrile rubber, which is one of the most suitable rubber for applications in contact with petroleum-based fluids.

Physical and chemical properties of NBR depend on the polymer's composition of nitrile. More nitrile in the polymer increases its resistance to oils, but decreases its flexibility; this form of synthetic rubber is generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals. It is widely used in the automotive industry for making fuel and oil-handling hoses, seals, and grommets.

NBR's ability to withstand temperatures from -40°C to +108°C makes it a perfect fit for automotive applications. Moreover, nitrile rubber resists oils and acids better than natural rubber, but has less strength and flexibility.

Generally, aliphatic hydrocarbons are not a problem for nitrile rubber. Like natural rubber, nitrile can be attacked by ozone, aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, esters and aldehydes.
The general properties of nitrile compound are good heat resistance aging and excellent solvents resistance, aromatics, petroleum based-fluids, impermeably to gases.
It could be used in products that need to be in contact with mineral and vegetable oils, fuels, greases, hydraulic fluid, hydrocarbons, fats, and solvents.

Some characteristics of nitrile rubber are:

-
Very good resistance to petroleum-based fluids
-
Very low level of permeability to gases
-
Temperature range between -40°C to 108°C
